MASTERS IN RESEARCH AND DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP CALL

We are delighted to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for our NMAHPs to apply to the Charitably funded NMAHP Researcher Development Institute Masters and Doctoral Fellowships (both part time opportunities to enable professionals to remain clinical alongside their research development).

How many fellowships will be awarded each year?
One fellowship award will be made at MRes level, and one fellowship award will be made at Doctoral level.

What does the fellowship award fund?
Each award will fund backfill at 0.5WTE of salary and associated tuition fees for the duration of the programme (MRes max 3 years, Doctoral max 6 years). The Doctoral fellowship will also fund up to £5k project costs, to be discussed and agreed.

Who can apply?

  • Applications are open to Nurses, Midwives, and Allied Health Professionals, as identified via NHS England here: https://www.england.nhs.uk/ahp/role/
  • You must be employed by The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and have been employed in a substantive post for more than 12 months.
  • Applications are open to Band 5, 6, 7 and 8a.

What is the closing date?
The deadline for applications to be submitted is 4pm on Monday the 6th of June. Applications submitted after this time will not be considered.

What happens after I submit my application?
A panel of individuals with relevant clinical and academic expertise will consider your application. Their assessment will be based on your responses to each section/question. Please ensure you read each question and any related notes carefully.
If your application is shortlisted, you will be invited to an interview on the afternoon of the 4th of July. We will be unable to offer interviews outside of the date/time offered, so please ensure you will be available prior to submitting your application. You will be notified of your invitation to interview on Tuesday the 28th of June.
